Your treatment is determined by your diagnosis. A diagnosis is the first step in determining the problem. Additional studies may be necessary to properly make a diagnosis.
This may include physical therapy modalities, exercise programs, aqua therapy, joint and spine mobilization, transcutaneous nerve stimulation or TENS massage therapy, and psychological counseling.
If the treatment is ineffective and doesn't relieve the pain, a referral to a qualified surgical specialist is then made.
